A Raspberry Pi Model B with the PiTFT Touch Screen and Plastic Case, with NOOBS Raspbian Linux distribution is used as the control computer. Adafruit has excellent tutorials on setting all this up.
Software
Since the control software is java based and makes use of the Phidgets programing library the following software components need to be installed:
- JDK 1.7 or 1.8 according to these instructions.
- Phidgets library according to these instructions. Please note that you will need a powered USB hub for connecting the stepper motor controller.
- The SCKTalkPhi control program can be found here, along with source code and instructions on how to run it.
